The upcoming summer will see two standout Texas Longhorns baseball players, Luke Harrison and Anthony Pack Jr., represent the United States at the first ever World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan. The tournament runs from July 11 to July 15, bringing together the nation's top college talent for a five‑day showdown.
Pack, a freshman who burst onto the scene this past season, posted a .355 batting average over 61 games, driving in 56 runs and adding 28 extra‑base hits. His performance in exhibition play was enough to pace Team USA in triples, total bases and RBIs, underscoring his impact before the official roster was finalized.
Harrison, meanwhile, proved equally dominant on the mound. He logged 10 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .133 batting average, and he did not surrender a single run during exhibition games. His precision helped shape a pitching staff that entered the tournament with a clear edge.
Their selection marks the ninth occasion in program history that two Longhorns have been chosen in the same year, a testament to the sustained excellence of the Texas baseball development pipeline. Since the program’s inception, 34 players have earned invitations to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, placing the Longhorns among the most represented schools.
Among the alumni who have previously worn the Team USA uniform are former Longhorns such as Huston Street, Corey Knebel, Hoby Milner and Drew Stubbs, each of whom went on to successful careers in professional baseball. Their pathways illustrate the caliber of talent that the current duo joins.
A Milestone for the Longhorns Program
The achievement reflects not only individual brilliance but also the robust scouting and player development frameworks that Texas has cultivated over the past decade, ensuring a steady flow of elite talent to national stages.
