Texas Longhorns have made a decisive move in the 2027 recruiting cycle, adding five-star offensive lineman Ismael Camara to a class that already boasts top-ranked talent and sits among the nation's elite according to both 247Sports and On3.
A recruiting surge
Camara, a 6-foot-6, 340-pound prospect from Gilmer, Texas, relocated from France during his high school years and chose the Longhorns over powerhouse programs such as Alabama, LSU and Michigan.
His decision follows the earlier pledge of four-star defensive back Brandon Sherrard in July, a player who attracted interest from LSU, Texas A&M and Notre Dame before committing to Texas.
The class now holds the No. 4 spot in the 247Sports rankings and No. 5 in the On3 composite, featuring the nation's top defensive back in John Meredith II and the premier wide receiver in Easton Royal.
Meredith, whose eligibility was called into question at North Crowley High School, remains eligible at Euless Trinity, preserving his contribution to the Longhorns' future.
