A Strategic Addition for the Longhorns
Texas has reinforced its roster for the 2027 campaign by securing outfielder Trevor Goldenetz from the transfer portal, a move that underscores the program’s aggressive recruitment strategy.
Goldenetz arrives after a standout freshman season at Long Beach State, where he hit .370 and drove in 12 runs while drawing 19 walks in just 108 at‑bats, showcasing a rare blend of contact hitting and plate discipline.
A Deepening Outfield
Coach Jim Schlossnagle plans to slot Goldenetz in center field, pairing him with Sawyer Solitaria in right and Anthony Pack Jr. in left, creating a defensively versatile and offensively potent trio.
The addition comes alongside other high‑profile transfers such as Ethan Mendoza, Thomas Burns, Aiden Robbins and Carson Tinney, all of whom have contributed to recent successes that saw the Longhorns reach Omaha in prior seasons.
With a core of experienced returnees and a pipeline of elite portal talent, Texas aims to translate its recruiting momentum into another College World Series appearance by 2027.
