Texas has landed a major commitment in its 2027 recruiting class, securing the verbal pledge of four-star offensive tackle Brian Swanson.
Ranked No. 177 overall and No. 17 among offensive tackles by the 247Sports composite, Swanson chose the Longhorns over a slate of powerhouse programs including Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M and SMU.
His addition marks the third offensive lineman to join the class, alongside Kenyon Hemphill-Woods and Jackson Cook, and positions Texas as the No. 13 team in the national composite rankings.
A Strategic Late Push
Coach Steve Sarkisian has been praised for his ability to make late-stage inroads on elite talent, a pattern that has become a hallmark of his tenure at Texas.
The class now comprises 14 commitments, underscoring the breadth of the Longhorns’ recruiting efforts and their ascent in the composite team rankings.
