Coach Stone emphasized that the bonus period gives the squad a rare chance to fine‑tune tactics, build chemistry and enter the season with a higher level of readiness.
Among the new faces is Addie Todd, a goalkeeper who spent her college years at Florida State. In eight appearances for the Seminoles she recorded 17 saves while allowing just seven goals, a performance that has already earned praise from the coaching staff.
Todd is expected to bring more than shot‑stopping ability; Coach Stone believes her presence will also mentor younger players and strengthen the locker‑room culture.
Opening Matchups on the Horizon
The schedule promises early tests. The season opener is slated for August 13 in Honolulu against Hawaii, followed by a home debut on August 23 versus Boise State in Boise, Idaho. The first Big 12 confrontation arrives on August 17 at UCF in Orlando, Florida.
Returning on the defensive side is Kylie Bahr, a fifth‑year standout who has battled back‑to‑back knee injuries. Despite the setbacks, Bahr is eager to deliver what she calls her best season yet, providing leadership and stability at the back.
Last season the Red Raiders finished 14‑2‑5 and advanced to the second round of the postseason, a milestone that sets a high bar for the upcoming year.
