The Texas Tech Red Raiders football program capped a remarkable 2025 season with a national ranking of seventh, setting an ambitious tone for the 2026 campaign and drawing attention to its upcoming home opener.
Cigar Celebration Marks Season Success
Bocock Brothers, a Texas‑based cigar manufacturer, has partnered with the Red Raiders to launch the Texas Tech Oil Field Reserve, a limited‑edition line that blends the university’s branding with oil pump jack imagery and the school’s iconic logo, while prominently featuring the slogan ‘Wreck ‘Em’ in glossy white lettering accented by scarlet.
The collection offers two expressions: the full‑bodied Texas Tech Oil Field Reserve, priced at $280 per box and crafted from Honduran tobacco, and the milder Texas Tech Red Raiders Habano, priced at $275 per box and presented in sleek black packaging.
Both cigars are produced in Honduras and will begin shipping this month to retailers across Texas, marking the first time the university’s athletic brand extends into the premium tobacco market.
The celebration aligns with the Red Raiders’ season opener on September 5 against Abilene Christian, a home game that will take place in Lubbock, the heart of West Texas’s oil‑rich landscape.
