Texas Tech unveils 2027 schedule for softball, baseball and basketball

A comprehensive slate that spans early‑season tournaments, Big 12 competition and marquee exhibition games

Texas Tech University has released its 2027 schedule for the Red Raiders softball and baseball teams, setting a busy slate that stretches from early February through May and includes a handful of high‑profile non‑conference matchups.

A packed 2027 slate for Red Raiders

The softball squad will open the season at home in Tracy Sellers Field, hosting a three‑game series against Saint Mary’s before heading to a February invitational in Clearwater, Florida, where they will meet Florida State and Oklahoma State. The Big 12 slate begins in March, with home and away series against Kansas, UCF, Baylor, Iowa State, Arizona, Houston, Oklahoma State and Arizona State scattered across the spring. The conference tournament is set for May 13‑15 at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, a venue that has become a staple for the league’s championship.

Baseball follows a similar rhythm, debuting with a three‑game home series versus Saint Mary’s in mid‑February. After a brief road swing to UTSA and a home stretch against Texas State, Louisiana Tech and Alabama in Round Rock, the Red Raiders travel to face Oklahoma on a neutral site, host San Diego for three games and make the long trek to Oregon State for a four‑game series. Big 12 play kicks off March 18‑20 at BYU, then continues with home series against Baylor, Cincinnati, Arizona State, TCU and Utah later in the spring, while road trips to Kansas, Houston, Oklahoma State and UCF punctuate the schedule.

The basketball team also features prominently, highlighted by an October 23 exhibition game against Kentucky at Rupp Arena in Lexington, and a series of non‑conference home contests that include Jackson State, Bethune‑Cookman, Illinois, Stonehill College, New Orleans, Omaha, Incarnate Word and Mississippi Valley State. The Red Raiders will test themselves in the Players Era Sixteen tournament in Las Vegas in late November, where they could meet Louisville and either Oregon or St. John’s, and will later play at Madison Square Garden against Duke on December 21.
