A Statewide Showcase
The 2026 Dave Campbell's Texas Football All‑Texas College Team brings together 56 of the state's most promising players, drawn from ten of the thirteen FBS programs that field football teams in Texas. The selections reflect a concentration of talent that stretches across the Lone Star State, highlighting the depth of college football in the region.
Power‑Four conferences dominate the list, with 51 of the honorees competing in those leagues, while only five come from the Group of Six. Texas Tech leads the pack with twelve representatives, followed closely by the University of Texas with eleven and Texas A&M with eight, underscoring the competitive edge of the state's traditional powerhouses.
Among the standouts, Arch Manning of Texas earned the distinction of the state's top quarterback, while Cam Dickey of Texas Tech was recognized as the premier running back. Cam Coleman, also from Texas, was lauded as the best wide receiver, and Trevor Goosby secured the offensive line honor. On the defensive side, Colin Simmons of Texas was named the finest defensive lineman, Ben Roberts of Texas Tech claimed linebacker honors, and Jamel Johnson of TCU was celebrated as the top defensive back. Specialist Nick Reed of SMU rounded out the accolades as the best specialist.
Notably absent from the roster were any selections from North Texas, Sam Houston, or UTEP, a reminder that the honors are concentrated among a select group of programs. The exclusions highlight the rigorous standards of the All‑Texas selections and the intense competition for recognition within the state.
The comprehensive list, which includes names such as Kevin Jennings, Will Henderson, Reuben Owens and many others, serves as a snapshot of the next generation of Texas football talent. As the season progresses, these players will be watched closely for how they translate this early acclaim into performance on the national stage.
