A Summer Test in the Bahamas
Louisville’s men’s basketball team has landed in Nassau, Bahamas, where they will meet a local squad in a summer exhibition scheduled for a 2 p.m. tipoff at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts and Entertainment Center.
Coach Pat Kelsey, in his first year at the helm, spoke of lofty ambitions for the upcoming season but emphasized that the team’s focus remains on the process of building chemistry and executing the system he has installed.
The roster looks markedly different from last year’s group, with only one scholarship player returning. Two key contributors, Obinna Ekezie Jr. and Karter Knox, are sidelined by injuries, further shaping the lineup.
To compensate for the limited practice time, the Cardinals have been granted ten additional summer practices, a rare allowance that gives them extra opportunity to install Kelsey’s system and evaluate new faces such as Will Hanke, Flory Bidunga, Alvaro Folgueiras, Jackson Shelstad, Adrian Wooley and Brooks Holton.
The exhibition is part of the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League, but it will not be televised; however, live stats will be available for those tracking the action.
