Third Annual Youth Football Camp Returns to Panama City

The third edition of the youth football camp, organized by Florida State University Panama City in partnership with former NFL veteran Javien Elliott and Speed Plus Sports founder Boris Jackson, will take place this Saturday at Tommy Oliver Stadium. The free event welcomes boys and girls aged nine and up, with registration opening at 8:00 AM.

Elliott, who spent seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers, brings his NFL experience to the field, while Jackson contributes the expertise of his Speed Plus Sports brand, known for performance‑enhancing training programs. Together they will lead a four‑hour session packed with skill workouts, fundamental drills and combine‑style tests designed to sharpen technique for middle‑school, high‑school, college and even aspiring professional players.

More Than Just Football

Beyond drills and physical conditioning, the camp emphasizes personal growth, with Elliott saying he enjoys watching campers develop respect and camaraderie. He encourages participants to have fun, absorb life lessons and leave the stadium not only as better athletes but also as more confident individuals.

The initiative reflects a broader community effort to provide accessible sports opportunities in Panama City, reinforcing the mission of Florida State University Panama City to foster both athletic excellence and character development.
