Three Bulldogs Earn LSWA All-Louisiana Honors for 2026 Season

Trey Hawsey, Declan Dahl and Colby Lunsford recognized for standout performances that mark a historic showing for Louisiana Tech baseball

The 2026 Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana team has been released, and three Louisiana Tech players earned spots on the prestigious list. Their selections reflect a season in which the Bulldogs combined individual excellence with a resurgence that has put the program back on the regional radar.

Trey Hawsey, the senior power hitter, paced the offense with a league‑leading combination of home runs, RBIs, total bases and on‑base plus slugging. His dominance at the plate earned him a First Team berth and a repeat spot on the Second Team All-Conference USA, while also securing ABCA/Rawlings First Team All‑South Region honors.

A Milestone for the Program

Right‑hander Declan Dahl made history as the first Bulldog to reach 100 strikeouts in under 90 innings, a feat that not only placed him on the Second Team but also garnered the conference’s Newcomer of the Year award. His 102 punchouts rank eighth in program history for a single season, highlighting a pitching staff that has become a national point of interest.

Outfielder Colby Lunsford rounded out the trio’s achievements with an honorable mention after leading the team with 21 doubles, 52 runs scored and 43 RBIs. He batted above .300 for the season, stole six bases and joined two teammates with double‑digit home runs, underscoring his all‑around impact.

The three selections mark the first time since 2023 that multiple Bulldogs have appeared on the All‑Louisiana squad, a milestone that speaks to the program’s steady climb within Conference USA and the broader NCAA landscape. Louisiana Tech’s athletic department, based in Ruston, Louisiana, continues to leverage its strong regional roots to compete at higher levels.
