Scholar‑Athletes Recognized
The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) recently announced its Krampade All‑American Scholars list for the 2025‑26 academic year, honoring three members of the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team. The distinction highlights student‑athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the rink, meeting rigorous academic and participation standards.
To qualify, each player must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 and appear in no fewer than 40 percent of their team's games. This year, 319 scholars from 44 Division I programs earned the accolade, underscoring the growing emphasis on academic achievement within collegiate hockey.
Academic Excellence on Display
Noemi Martinez closed out her junior season with a flawless 4.0 GPA while pursuing a double major in business administration: finance and Spanish. Her consistent performance has already earned her a place on the list for three consecutive years, reflecting both dedication and intellectual rigor.
Julia Cabral finished the year with a 3.90 GPA in the health sciences, balancing demanding coursework with a full schedule of practices and games. Her achievement marks the second consecutive year she has been recognized for scholarly excellence.
Sophomore forward Charlie Rauch earned the honor for the first time, posting a 3.91 GPA in English teaching. Rauch’s blend of academic focus and on‑ice contribution illustrates the diverse pathways student‑athletes are carving at UNH.
Looking Ahead to the New Season
The Wildcats are set to resume competition on September 25 at St. Thomas before opening their home schedule against Boston University on October 9. As they prepare for the 2026‑27 campaign, the recent academic accolades add a narrative of balance and ambition that resonates with fans and teammates alike.
