The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the Detroit Tigers 8-5 on Monday night at PNC Park, dropping a game that swung back and forth before the visitors pulled ahead in the later innings.

On the mound, Carmen Mlodzinski struggled, posting a 5.85 ERA in 12 starts this season and a 14.14 ERA over his last three outings. Starter Yohan Ramírez made a brief appearance, walking three batters and allowing three runs before being pulled.
The Pirates’ bullpen tightened in the later frames, with relievers limiting further damage, but the Tigers’ early burst proved enough. The game marked the first Pittsburgh-area broadcast of a Pirates contest on ESPN since August 2019, underscoring the growing visibility of the franchise.
