Tigers Rally to Topple Utah Tech 3-2 in Season-Opening Thriller

First-year coach Andres Ochoa guides a dramatic second-half comeback that marks Pacific’s inaugural 2026 victory

The Pacific men’s soccer squad turned a 2-0 halftime hole into a 3-2 victory over Utah Tech, scoring three unanswered goals in the second half.

A Comeback for the Ages

First-year head coach Andres Ochoa orchestrated the turnaround, earning his initial win and giving the Tigers a perfect start to the 2026 campaign.

Edwin Moreno opened the scoring with his debut goal for Pacific, while Fateh Singh equalised in the 53rd minute, and Massimo Erfani sealed the result with a penalty-kick strike in the 81st minute, his second career goal since October.

Goalkeeper Alejandro Caracheo Luna kept the lead intact with ten saves, including four after the break, while Pacific outchanced Utah Tech 8-7 despite being outshot overall.

The Tigers will now head home for their next two fixtures, beginning with a much-anticipated matchup against UC Davis at Knoles Field on August 27.
