Tim Reznich, who has guided the Frankfort girls’ basketball program for a quarter‑century, announced this week that he will step down as head coach, ending a tenure that reshaped the team’s identity.
During his 24‑year stint the Panthers compiled a 406‑162 record, captured 17 district championships, eight regional crowns and seven Northwest Conference titles, and added two state championships to the trophy case.
A Legacy of Excellence
Reznich’s teams earned six regional coach‑of‑the‑year honors and two state coach‑of‑the‑year awards, the latter following back‑to‑back state titles in 2006 and 2007. The program’s rise was punctuated by four trips to the Breslin Center, Michigan’s premier basketball arena.
In a recent interview Reznich reflected on the evolution of the squad, the unwavering support of the local community, and the personal growth he witnessed in each player.
Though he will relinquish the clipboard, Reznich plans to remain at Frankfort as a teacher for at least another year and will continue to assist the program in any capacity the school deems appropriate.
