Timmy Runtso Commits to Miami Hockey

Miami Hockey has secured a key addition to its roster, announcing that defenseman Timmy Runtso will join the program for the 2026‑27 season.

Runtso, a native of Playa Vista, California, brings a blend of size, skating and offensive upside that caught the attention of scouts across North America.

After a breakout year with the Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League, where he logged 44 points in 68 games, the blue‑liner was recognized as the NAHL Central Division Rookie of the Year for the 2024‑25 campaign.

His 27 points in 53 appearances for St. Cloud in the NAHL, coupled with a strong showing at the WHL Prospects Game in February 2026, where he recorded an assist, have reinforced his status as a top defensive prospect.

Ranked 53rd among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting, Runtso is expected to compete for a regular spot in the RedHawks’ lineup and contribute both on the power play and in even‑strength situations.

Anthony Noreen, Miami Hockey’s director of player development, said the organization is excited to integrate Runtso’s defensive reliability and offensive creativity into the team’s long‑term vision.
