Timothy Kazda, a 6‑foot‑1 winger standing 195 pounds, has officially inked an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Guelph Storm. The deal follows his selection fourth overall in the CHL Import Draft, a milestone that underscores the high expectations placed on the Slovak prospect.
Kazda arrives in Guelph after a standout season with the Chicago Steel of the USHL, where he recorded 22 goals and 19 assists across 59 games. His offensive output was complemented by a place on the USHL All‑Academic Team, highlighting his commitment both on and off the ice.
International Success and Recognition
Representing Slovakia at the under‑16 and under‑18 levels, Kazda helped his nation secure a silver medal at the 2026 U18 Men’s World Championship. His performances earned him the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award after he contributed six goals and six assists in the competition.
The winger’s international résumé also includes stints with Seacoast Performance Academy, where he compiled 136 goals and 92 assists in 146 appearances. That strong junior output, combined with his recent OHL commitment, positions him as a top prospect for the 2027 NHL Draft.
Looking Ahead to Training Camp
Expressing enthusiasm about the new opportunity, Kazda said he is eager to meet his teammates and immerse himself in the Storm’s training camp. He joins a roster that includes veteran leadership from General Manager George Burnett, whose experience will be invaluable as the young forward adjusts to the North American style of play.
