The Crested Butte Titans opened their 2026 campaign with a 2-0 victory over the Vail Mountain Rangers on August 22, a result that set an encouraging tone for the young squad.
Goal Breakdown
Sid Presley and Kyle Moran combined for the opening goal in the 26th minute, and Moran’s header followed a set‑piece delivery from Isaac Jennings that caught Vail’s defense off guard.
The defensive unit, anchored by a disciplined back four and the work of defensive midfielder Tanner Harpel, limited Vail’s early threats and preserved the clean sheet.
Coach Matt Wilson praised the team’s ability to adapt, noting that the players handled different playing styles and demonstrated resilience that bodes well for the schedule ahead, including a forthcoming clash with Manitou Springs on August 29.
