Tom Guse, the longtime head coach of Rockford Lutheran’s boys basketball team, announced his resignation after 16 seasons at the helm.
A Legacy of Success
During his tenure, Guse guided the Crusaders to three appearances at the state tournament, captured five sectional titles and added eight regional championships to the program’s résumé.
Timing Was the Deciding Factor
In a brief statement, Guse said that the timing of his departure was the primary reason for stepping down, though he offered no further details.
Rockford Lutheran officials confirmed that the search for a successor is already underway, with a focus on maintaining the competitive culture Guse built over his 16‑year stint.
