Sony has officially locked in a July 30, 2027 release date for "The Comebacker," a baseball‑centric drama that promises to blend sports nostalgia with a fresh cinematic narrative.
The project brings together two creative forces who previously collaborated on the acclaimed "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood." Director Marielle Heller returns to work with Tom Hanks, this time taking the helm of a story that intertwines personal redemption with America's pastime.
At the heart of the film, Hanks portrays a pitching coach whose ordinary routine is shattered when a line drive strikes him on the mound, setting off a chain of events that forces him to confront new realities both on and off the field.
