A strategic addition for the upcoming season
Chattanooga Mocs head coach Dan Earl announced that longtime assistant Tom Kiely will be back on the staff for the 2026‑27 season, bringing a familiar presence to the program.
Kiely first joined the Mocs in 2022 as Director of Basketball Operations during Earl’s inaugural year, helping the team advance to the SoCon Tournament championship game and shaping a potent three‑point attack that featured standout forward Jake Stephens.
After three seasons as an assistant at Farleigh Dickinson University, where he continued to refine player development and recruiting strategies, Kiely returns to Chattanooga with a refreshed perspective and a track record of elevating talent.
His earlier roles include a stint as a recruiting coordinator for the Hoop Group, camp counseling at Kevin Willard’s basketball camps, and a student‑manager position at Seton Hall, where he was part of the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament championship squad.
Earl expressed confidence that Kiely’s blend of experience and deep knowledge of the program will help the Mocs build on recent successes and contend for another conference title.
