Tom Meusborn, a revered figure in high school baseball, announced his resignation as head coach of Sierra Canyon's baseball program, bringing an end to a tenure that combined record‑setting victories with a string of championship titles.
A Record of Excellence
Over a career that spanned nearly three decades, Meusborn amassed 774 wins, captured eight Los Angeles City Section championships and added two national titles. His early years at Chatsworth laid the foundation, where he coached for 27 seasons before returning to the Valley to lead Sierra Canyon.
In his most recent season, the Trail Blazers finished with a 24‑7 overall record and a 13‑4 mark in the Mission League, only to see their campaign halted by an 8‑0 defeat to Cypress in the Division 1 playoffs.
Looking Forward
Meusborn said he will step away from the day‑to‑day responsibilities of head coaching to accept an assistant position at Cal State Northridge, where he hopes to mentor the next generation of players while spending more time with his family.
Colleagues and players alike praised his dedication, strategic mind and ability to develop talent, noting that his influence will continue to be felt across the Valley’s baseball community.
