A fresh chapter for the No. 27 Chevrolet
Toni Breidinger’s debut in the Craftsman Truck Series got off to a rocky start, with three Did Not Qualify results in her first five outings, two of them while driving for Rackley WAR and one for McAnally‑Hilgemann Racing. At Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park she finally took the wheel of the No. 27 Chevrolet, finishing 25th but showing the car could stay on the track.
Her replacement, Kasey Kleyn, entered the series after a debut at North Wilkesboro Speedway in July, only to be disqualified when a late electrical fault forced the team to pull the car. Despite the setback, Kleyn has secured a program that will keep him in the No. 27 Chevrolet for the Richmond race this weekend and for at least three more events, the last of which is the October Martinsville Speedway date.
Both drivers will continue to share the ride beyond Richmond, with Breidinger slated to return for the upcoming events at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway and Phoenix Raceway in October, while Kleyn’s schedule extends through the same period. The pair’s overlapping calendar reflects a strategic effort to keep the No. 27 Chevrolet competitive on the short‑track and intermediate circuits.
The road ahead
As the season progresses, Breidinger’s best result to date remains an 18th‑place finish at Texas Motor Speedway, a mark she shares with her 2023 performance, while her full‑time campaign with Tricon Garage in 2025 produced a similar result at Rockingham Speedway. The upcoming races will test whether the new driver lineup can translate early lessons into higher placements before the championship‑deciding stretch at Martinsville.
