Tony Skinn’s Elite Camp Returns to George Mason
The Tony Skinn Elite Camp will take place on August 23 at the RAC Gym on George Mason University’s campus in Fairfax, Virginia. The one‑day intensive is aimed at serious high school and collegiate‑level players who want to test themselves against the best talent in the DMV region.
Organizers say the camp provides a rare opportunity for aspiring athletes to receive instruction that mirrors college practice sessions, with a focus on refining fundamentals, expanding skill sets, and gaining a deeper tactical understanding of the game.
A Coach With a Proven Track Record
Tony Skinn, a 2006 Final Four starter for George Mason, brings more than a decade of coaching excellence to the event. In 2025 he was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year after guiding the Patriots to a program‑record 27 wins and their first Atlantic 10 regular‑season title.
Under his leadership, five players have earned All‑A‑10 honors, three have been selected to the NABC All‑District teams, and one was crowned the 2025 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year, underscoring the program’s upward trajectory.
The camp’s curriculum blends on‑court drills with film study, allowing participants to dissect game situations and apply new techniques in real‑time scrimmages.
Competitive elements include 3‑on‑3 and 5‑on‑5 games against top regional prospects, giving campers a chance to showcase their abilities in front of coaches and scouts from across the Mid‑Atlantic.
Beyond skill development, the event is part of an annual series that aims to build a pipeline of talent while reinforcing the university’s commitment to community outreach and athletic excellence.
