Top 100 Underclass Boys Basketball Showcase Returns to Ben Davis
The 24th IBCA/IHSAA Top 100 Underclass Boys Basketball Showcase will be held Friday at Ben Davis High School in Indiana, offering a rare chance for Division I coaches to evaluate the state’s most promising underclass talent during a scholastic viewing period. Admission for spectators is set at $5 per day.
The action kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 4:55 p.m., with stations opening at noon and the first scrimmage session beginning at 1:50 p.m. Six distinct sessions of head‑to‑head play will be followed by an “Overtime Tournament” at 4:15 p.m., culminating in closing remarks at 4:45 p.m.
Organizers have arranged the participants into twelve named squads — Gold, Columbia, Kelly, Red, Navy, Maroon, Lime, Gray, Royal, Black, Purple and Orange — each fielding ten players, though a few teams carry a few extra bodies to accommodate injuries.
Height projections range from 5‑9 to 6‑10, while graduation years span 2027 through 2029, underscoring a deep pool of sophomores, juniors and freshmen poised to make an impact.
The showcase serves as a critical scouting platform; coaches from Division I programs are invited to attend in person, turning the event into a live audition for scholarship opportunities and future roster spots.
In addition to the on‑court competition, the schedule includes a series of skill stations designed to highlight individual strengths, followed by a fast‑paced overtime format that pits the top performers against one another in a final showdown.
While the majority of the 120 prospects will see action, a handful of selected players will be unable to compete due to injury or other commitments, a reminder of the physical demands of the summer circuit.
Beyond the basketball, the event reflects the growing popularity of grassroots hoops in Indiana, drawing families, media and local businesses into a single, high‑energy day of sport.
