Five‑star small forward DJ Okoth, a 2028 recruit from Bartlett High School in Tennessee, is scheduled to visit the University of Tennessee on October 16, marking his first step onto the Volunteers' campus.
A Crucial Recruiting Milestone
Ranked No. 6 among small forwards nationwide and No. 1 in Tennessee by 247Sports, Okoth brings elite talent to a program that has yet to secure a pledge from the 2028 class, making his upcoming visit a pivotal moment for the Volunteers' future.
Tennessee extended a scholarship to Okoth on September 2, 2025, after the program had been courting him since the summer of 2024, when Alabama State became the first school to offer him a scholarship on June 26, 2024.
While the Volunteers have built a solid foundation with four commitments in their 2026 recruiting class—Ralph Scott, Manny Green, Marquis Clark, and Chris Washington Jr.—they remain without a confirmed prospect for the 2028 cycle, heightening the significance of Okoth's visit.
The visit will give Okoth a comprehensive look at Tennessee's facilities, coaching staff, and academic environment, and could tip the balance in a recruiting battle that includes offers from Alabama State, Memphis, Illinois‑Chicago, Mississippi State, Jacksonville, Missouri, New Mexico State, ULM, La Salle, Ole Miss, Alabama A&M, Texas A&M, and Providence.
