Florida State University is opening its doors to a group of elite basketball prospects this weekend, with five‑star recruit Cayden Daughtry leading the charge. The 6‑foot‑5 guard, ranked third nationally for the Class of 2027 by 247Sports, will begin a series of official visits that include seven stops, the Seminoles being his first.
A weekend of talent
Daughtry’s junior campaign at Calvary Christian was marked by dominance in the EYBL circuit, where he averaged 32.3 points per game and earned league MVP honors, complementing a season in which he posted 26.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
The visit also welcomes 4‑star forward Moussa Kamissoko from New York and 4‑star guard Jarvis Hayes Jr. from Georgia, while the team’s recent state championship was secured with contributions from former Seminoles forward Shon Abaev and guard Colin Paul.
Coach Luke Loucks and the rest of the basketball staff are using the showcase to highlight the program’s trajectory, a narrative that gains extra momentum as the football team prepares for its season opener against New Mexico State on August 29.
