A Recruiting Milestone
Iowa’s women’s basketball program recently hosted Kate McDougall, a highly touted 2029 combo guard from Washington, Illinois, on an unofficial visit that has already drawn attention from recruiting analysts and coaches alike.
Standing 5‑foot‑10, McDougall posted a freshman season in which she averaged 5.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game while competing for the Indy One AAU program.
Although the Hawkeyes have not yet offered her a scholarship, the Illinois native has attracted interest from several other schools, including Toledo, Lindenwood, High Point, Dayton, Eastern Illinois and Bradley, each of which have extended invitations for official visits or verbal commitments.
Iowa’s coaching staff, led by associate head coach Jan Jensen, is already mapping the 2029 recruiting class, viewing McDougall as a potential cornerstone for a future that could reshape the team’s backcourt dynamics.
