The Ahnapee Trailblazers saw their Senior Legion campaign slip to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Ashwaubenon on Tuesday, a loss that drops their overall record to 3-8.
Right-hander Hobbs Emerson shouldered the bulk of the work, throwing all six innings and surrendering four runs — three earned — on six hits while walking two and striking out eight.
The Trailblazers had taken an early lead, but the advantage evaporated in the sixth inning when Ashwaubenon rallied for three unanswered runs, shifting momentum decisively.
At the plate, Jacob Massey and Owen Dannhausen each contributed two hits, providing the only multi‑hit efforts for Ahnapee.
The team will close out the regular season with a showdown against Bay Port at Sturgeon Bay’s Memorial Field, a game that could serve as a final tune‑up before the upcoming AA Legion regional tournament.
Regional tournament outlook
The regional tournament is slated for July 23-26 at Village Park in Casco, featuring Ahnapee alongside Kewaunee County, Denmark and Ashwaubenon.
The Trailblazers’ first tournament contest is scheduled for July 23 at 8 p.m. against Kewaunee County, and the roster will include Connor Mueller and Siggy Hansen among its contributors.
