Key Moments from the Sturgeon Bay Showdown
The Ahnapee Trailblazers dropped a tightly contested Senior Legion baseball game, 3-2, at Sturgeon Bay’s Memorial Field on a warm July evening.
Bonduel drew first blood in the top of the second inning, capitalizing on a bases‑loaded walk that followed a single and two walks off Trailblazers starter Jacob Massey.
Ahnapee answered right back in the bottom of the same frame when Bo Tanck’s clutch single off Bonduel pitcher Brooks Hartlaben brought home Jonah Dahms and Charlie Reinhardt, flipping the lead to 2‑1.
The advantage was short‑lived, however, as Bonduel rallied in the fourth inning; Jackson Reyment doubled to knot the score and Carter Beilfuss followed with a single that plated Reyment for the go‑ahead run.
Reliever Aaron Brey entered in the fifth to shut down Bonduel’s offense, delivering three consecutive scoreless innings and preserving the game’s tension.
In the seventh, Race Anvelink took the mound and recorded a save, striking out the side to seal the 3‑2 outcome.
The Trailblazers, now 1‑6 on the season, will return home Monday to face the Manitowoc 17U at Algoma’s Perry Field, hoping to turn the tide.
