Western Kentucky University announced today that Trevion LaBeaux has signed a letter of intent to join the program for the 2026‑27 campaign, marking a new chapter for the Hilltoppers as they look to bolster their frontcourt.
Championship pedigree meets collegiate ambition
LaBeaux arrives after a two‑year stretch at Indian Hills Community College, where he helped the Warriors compile a 58‑11 record and reach back‑to‑back NJCAA Final Fours. During that span he earned NJCAA First Team All‑American honors, ICCAC Player of the Year, and posted a season‑high 30 points against Marshalltown.
His prior stop at East Carolina saw him average 3.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in the 2024‑25 season before a year on the sidelines due to injury. Despite limited minutes, the redshirt senior brings a blend of experience, work ethic, and versatility that Coach Hank Plona believes will translate into immediate impact.
Plona highlighted LaBeaux’s intangibles, noting that his championship pedigree and leadership qualities will complement the existing roster and help maintain the program’s competitive edge in the upcoming schedule.
Beyond the hardwood, LaBeaux’s academic achievements — including ICCAC All‑Academic Second Team recognition and a spot on the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year — reflect a commitment to excellence that aligns with Western Kentucky’s emphasis on scholar‑athletes.
The Hilltoppers hope the addition will provide depth and stability as they navigate a demanding slate of games, with the forward expected to contribute in the paint, on the perimeter, and in moments that demand poise under pressure.
