Trevor Goldenetz, a former Long Beach State outfielder who earned an honorable mention on the Big West’s all‑conference team as a freshman, has announced that he will join the Texas baseball program for the 2027 season.
During his freshman year he hit .369 with 12 RBIs, 26 runs and 10 stolen bases, though a hand injury restricted him to 32 games in the 2026 campaign.
A Shifting Landscape
Texas will be without Aiden Robbins, who has signed with an MLB franchise, and will also lose Dariyan Pendergrass to graduation, leaving the outfield in need of fresh talent.
The program has responded by adding several transfers, including Sawyer Solitaria from Kent State and infielder Linkin Garcia, as well as catcher Ian Armstrong, to complement the returning Anthony Pack Jr. and Ashton Larson.
Competition for playing time is already intense, with Jonah Williams and Trent Maybin expected to battle for spots alongside Larson, creating a deep and versatile group.
The move underscores Texas’s strategy of bolstering the roster through the transfer portal while maintaining a strong pipeline from California programs such as Long Beach State.
Fans can look forward to seeing how Goldenetz fits into a lineup that is poised for a competitive 2027 season.
