Early Foundations
Trevor Hansen grew up in Simi Valley, California, where he first picked up a baseball at the age of seven. His early exposure to competitive play quickly set the stage for a career marked by high‑pressure moments and steady progression.
Hansen honed his craft at Royal High School before joining the UC Irvine Anteaters, where he became a standout pitcher known for his composure and a versatile repertoire that includes a fastball, curveball and changeup.
A Record‑Setting College Career
At UC Irvine he posted a 22‑11 record with a 4.54 ERA and 265 strikeouts, earning a semifinalist nod for the 2025 Dick Howser Trophy. As a freshman he helped set an attendance record, underscoring the excitement his presence generated on campus.
Mentors and Momentum
Throughout his development, Hansen credited his coaches and teammates for shaping his maturity and work ethic. Notable among them was Bryce Rainer, a fellow prospect whose guidance helped Hansen navigate the rigors of college baseball and prepare for the professional arena.
His high school résumé includes a 21‑6 record, a 1.65 ERA and four no‑hitters, as well as participation in Simi Youth Baseball’s run to the Pony World Series. Those achievements, combined with a No. 191 ranking by Baseball America, position him as one of the most experienced prospects entering the draft.
