A Milestone for the Rebels
Trinidad Chambliss earned a spot on the 2026 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award preseason watch list, a recognition that highlights his emergence as one of the country’s most promising college quarterbacks heading into the upcoming season.
During the 2025 campaign he threw for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns while also rushing for 527 yards and eight scores, showcasing a rare blend of arm strength and mobility that made him a dual‑threat nightmare for defenses.
The accolade follows a series of preseason honors, including selections to the Walter Camp and Maxwell Award watch lists, as well as first‑team All‑American and All‑SEC nods from coaches and media outlets.
Chambliss joins an exclusive group of Ole Miss quarterbacks who have been semifinalists for the Davey O’Brien Award, a lineage that includes Bo Wallace, Matt Corral and Jaxson Dart, underscoring the program’s recent history of producing elite signal‑callers.
The Rebels will kick off the 2026 season on September 6 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, facing Louisville in a matchup that promises to be a litmus test for Chambliss’s readiness for the national stage.
The award’s semifinalists will be announced on November 17, with the three finalists revealed on November 24, and the winner will be honored at The Home Depot College Football Awards show on ESPN on December 11.
