The University of Louisville has secured a significant recruiting boost as two of Kentucky’s most celebrated high school baseball players have committed to join the program.
State Championship Success
Nolan Hosking and Zach Floyd, both seniors at Trinity High School, helped the Rocks capture back‑to‑back Kentucky State Baseball Championships, finishing the latest season with a 41‑3 record and a No. 1 national ranking.
Hosking’s performance in the title game was particularly striking, as he scored two runs, drove in two, and stole a base, capping a season in which he batted .394 with seven home runs, nine doubles and 41 RBIs.
Injury and Determination
Floyd, however, battled a hamstring injury throughout the campaign yet remained a constant presence in the lineup, finishing with a .305 average, three home runs and 14 RBIs.
Both athletes are expected to report to the University of Louisville in early July for the final summer school session, eager to meet their new teammates and begin contributing to the Cardinals’ plans.
Their commitments highlight a strong pipeline of talent from Trinity High School to the university’s program, a trend that could enhance the team’s competitiveness in the coming seasons.
