Trinity Spicer, a senior at Greenwood High School, has become one of the most recognizable names on the Lady Bulldogs soccer field, standing out as a steadfast presence between the posts.
A Freshman’s Unexpected Turn
Her soccer story began as a freshman when her civics teacher, Coach Andrew Post, noticed her unusually quick reaction times and invited her to try out for the team, a suggestion that would set the course for her athletic career.
Though she entered high school with little interest in the sport, Spicer quickly embraced the goalkeeper role, emerging as a three‑year varsity starter who has logged six shutouts and 74 saves over her senior campaign.
One of her most memorable performances came during a scoreless tie at Harrison, where she turned away 11 shots in a single match, a moment that highlighted her reflexes and composure under pressure.
Beyond statistics, Spicer’s leadership is evident in her vocal presence on the field, where she directs teammates and offers guidance, a responsibility she has taken on especially for her younger sister Anna, who serves as the team’s backup goalkeeper.
Looking ahead, Spicer will enroll at Dallas Baptist University this fall to pursue a degree that blends sports management with journalism, signaling the close of her high school playing days but the start of a new chapter.
