Newton High School’s soccer squad concluded a dominant spring season with a sweep of the Little Hawkeye Conference schedule, finishing unbeaten in all six league matches.
All-Conference Honors
The conference coaches recognized the Cardinals’ standout performers by placing Troy Ramsey and Kent Montgomery on the all-conference second team, acknowledging their contributions as forwards.
Ramsey finished the campaign with two goals from seven shots, while Montgomery added a goal and an assist, having taken 11 attempts on goal.
Midfield and Defensive Recognition
Teammates David Wickett and Micah Mattes earned second-team nods at midfield, with Mattes also seeing action on two shots throughout the season. Aiden Robson, the team’s defensive anchor, was similarly honored as a defender after attempting four shots and starting every conference fixture.
