Troy University announced this week that Anthony Winchester will join its basketball staff as an assistant coach, bringing a blend of playing experience and coaching acumen to the program.

Winchester’s basketball journey began with a standout college career that culminated in being named Sun Belt Player of the Year, followed by a professional stint that sharpened his skills on the court.

His most recent role was at Kansas State, where he helped guide the Wildcats to the 2023 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, showcasing his ability to develop talent and execute game plans at a high level.

Expressing enthusiasm about the new opportunity, Winchester said he is eager to build relationships within the Troy community and contribute to the university’s athletic growth.

Off the court, Winchester holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology/criminology from Western Kentucky and shares his life with his wife, Mckenzie, and their three children, Beckham, Stony and Ella.
