Troy’s 14th Annual Women’s Football Clinic Draws Record Turnout

The 14th Annual Troy Football Women’s Clinic recently brought together more than 60 women for a rare glimpse inside the Trojan program, hosted by head coach Gerad Parker and his wife Kandi.

Attendees paid a modest $30 fee that covered a commemorative t‑shirt, light snacks and a backstage pass that let them see the same weekly routine the football players follow, from meeting‑room briefings to on‑field drills.

Inside the Experience

Coach Parker explained that the clinic was designed to give participants a small dose of how the team translates strategy into practice, saying the experience helps demystify the sport for newcomers.

First‑time attendee Malyri Chillard said she was eager to learn every facet of the game and share her newfound knowledge with her husband, while fellow participant Ginny Gunn expressed excitement about seeing women represented on the sidelines and in analytical roles.

Kandi Parker emphasized that women’s involvement can take many forms — as spouses, coaches, assistants or passionate fans — highlighting the inclusive culture the program is building.

Starting quarterback Goose Crowder praised the community’s enthusiasm, noting that the clinic’s energy underscores the strong support the team enjoys as it prepares for its 2026 season opener.
