The Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) announced its preseason high school football rankings on Monday, revealing the teams expected to lead each classification for the upcoming season.
Voters from member publications weighed in using a system that awards 10 points for a first‑place vote in Division I and five points in Division II, with additional points allocated to lower finishes, creating a composite score that determined the final rankings.
In Division I, South Pittsburg captured the top spot in Class 1A with 21 votes and 210 points, while Huntingdon claimed the apex in Class 2A with the same tally. Westview surged to first in Class 3A, Alcoa led Class 4A, and Sevier County topped Class 5A with 16 votes and 205 points. Oakland emerged as the premier team in Class 6A, earning 19 votes and 208 points.
