A Season to Remember
The Tulare Union basketball team captured the Tulare County high school boys' sports team of the year award for the 2025‑26 season after posting a 31‑5 record that broke the county’s single‑season win record.
Under Coach Mark Hatton, the squad added two tournament titles — the Andrew Bedoya Holiday Classic and the Polly Wilhelmsen Invitational — while repeating as West Yosemite League champions and securing the Central Section Division III plaque.
Looking Ahead
Senior forward Brayden Stevenson shattered the school’s all‑time scoring mark with 1,934 career points, and the team rode a seven‑game playoff streak that fell just one win short of a state‑championship berth. For the 2026‑27 campaign, Demaje Riley is slated to take the reins, having committed verbally to Fresno State football, while 6‑foot‑4 senior Melvin Lopez is expected to bolster the roster after a breakout junior season.
