Rising Stars Shine at 2026 AHSAA Showcase
The 2026 AHSAA Basketball Scholastic Showcase took place over two intense days in June, bringing together some of the most promising high school talent from the Tuscaloosa area and beyond. Hosted at a regional venue, the event featured fast‑paced games that highlighted both team chemistry and individual brilliance.
Elias Fleming emerged as a focal point for his team, finishing with 21 points and four assists in a nail‑biting 49‑47 victory over Hazel Green. His ability to create scoring opportunities late in the game illustrated a poise beyond his years.
Mize Parker also made his mark, contributing 18 points against Athens while shooting 4‑for‑8 from beyond the arc. Cooper Long added seven points and six rebounds, and Max Bruinton delivered a dramatic game‑winning three‑pointer at the buzzer against Thompson, a moment that electrified the crowd.
The event also showcased a deep bench of talent, including John Marshall Crew, Ben Leitner, Tyler Ivory, Cornelius Brown, DeCarlos Head, Trent Cole, Tripp McManus, Jamison Whiteside, Parker Nelson and Isiah Wallace, who each contributed valuable minutes and statistical highlights.
Other standout performances included Karter Lacy, who posted 23 points in the opening game and averaged 18 points, nine rebounds and three blocks per contest, and Kye Crimm, who compiled 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists across two games. Colin Warren’s season‑long averages of 25.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game further underscored the depth of talent on display.
The showcase not only celebrated current achievements but also served as a platform for these athletes to attract attention from college scouts and local media.
