NHL Development Camp Invites Highlight Badgers' Talent
The Badgers' men's hockey program saw a record number of players selected for the NHL's 2026 development camps, with twelve skaters earning the call-up, a third of the roster.
Their destinations span a diverse set of franchises, ranging from the New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers to the Dallas Stars, Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens.
Among the first wave announced, Zach Schulz, Daniel Hauser and Quinn Finley are slated to report to the Islanders' camp, while Grady Deering will join the Flyers, and Christian Fitzgerald will head to Dallas.
The Sabres will host Luke Osburn and Vasily Zelenov, the Senators will welcome Logan Hensler, Blake Montgomery and Bruno Idzan, and the Canadiens will bring in Aiden Dubinsky and Alexis Cournoyer.
Coaches and analysts view the influx of Badgers talent as a testament to the program's development pipeline, suggesting that several of these prospects could make early impacts in their respective organizations.
The upcoming camps will provide a crucial testing ground for the young players, who will look to translate collegiate performance into professional readiness.
