Wake Forest's Academic Excellence Shines on the ACC Stage
Twelve members of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons baseball squad were selected for the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference All‑Academic Team, marking the highest number of honorees for the program over the past three seasons.
The recognition ties the Deacons for fourth place among all conference schools in total selections, underscoring the depth of academic talent within the league.
Five of the twelve recipients have previously earned the distinction, highlighting a tradition of sustained scholarly achievement among the team's veteran players.
Conferencewide, the All‑Academic Team comprises 169 student‑athletes drawn from the ACC's sixteen institutions, reflecting a collective commitment to balancing athletic competition with rigorous academic standards.
Selection criteria require a minimum 3.0 grade point average over the last two semesters and a cumulative 3.0 GPA throughout a student‑athlete's undergraduate career, in addition to enrollment of at least one academic year and participation in at least half of the team's contests.
The accomplishment reinforces Wake Forest's reputation as a place where athletic ambition and intellectual curiosity coexist, a narrative that resonates with coaches, administrators, and the broader campus community.
