Twelve-year-old Carsynn Meyer, an outfielder from Henderson, Pennsylvania, is making history at the Little League World Series. She is one of only two girls competing this year and is just one win away from the championship game.
Meyer’s team, Paseo Verde, entered the tournament with a .351 batting average and has already shown flashes of brilliance, including an RBI single in their second game. After an 11-2 loss to Phenix City earlier in the bracket, the team now prepares to face Hamilton, Ohio, in the U.S. championship showdown on Saturday.
The youngster has been a constant presence on ESPN’s broadcasts, drawing cheers from the crowd at the “The Grove” complex, where she also participated in the Maria Pepe Little League Baseball Legacy Series alongside international players.

Her family has been a steady source of encouragement, with her mother and two siblings regularly cheering from the stands. The support network extends beyond home, as Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson gave Meyer a shoutout on Instagram, amplifying the excitement surrounding the tournament.
If Meyer’s team wins, she will join an exclusive club of girls who have reached the championship game, the last being Sayaka Tsushima in 1998. Her journey not only highlights personal resilience but also serves as a beacon for girls aspiring to play baseball at higher levels.
