The Twin State Baseball Classic is set to return to the Maxfield Sports Complex this Saturday, marking its first appearance at the venue since 2019.
Fans will enjoy a complimentary doubleheader of seven‑inning games beginning at 4 p.m., with free admission open to the public.
Vermont will be represented by Xander Oshoniyi of Thetford Academy, the only Upper Valley and Division III player selected for the state team. Oshoniyi’s shutout performance helped Thetford capture the VPA Division III championship, throwing six innings of scoreless baseball in the semifinals and closing out the final.
New Hampshire’s lineup includes Hayden Avard, Wyatt Daigle and Alex Boone from Hanover High School, alongside Logan Minkler of Stevens High School, all part of the same athletic association.
A Renewed Rivalry
The previous edition saw Vermont sweep New Hampshire, adding extra excitement to this year’s matchup and raising expectations for a competitive display from both sides.
Local organizers, including the Vermont Principals' Association and the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association, have partnered with the participating schools — Thetford Academy, Hanover High School and Stevens High School — to bring the classic back to the community.
