Ty Glaus has carried the lesson 'play free' from his father, Troy Glaus, throughout his baseball career, a mantra that has guided his approach to every swing and fielding decision.
In 2023 he earned a spot on the 12U National Team and helped the squad capture a gold medal at the WBSC U‑12 Baseball World Cup in Taiwan, where he batted .444 with three RBIs over five games and contributed seven hits, seven runs and ten RBIs in the World Cup Qualifier.
A memorable moment came during pool play in Mexico when Glaus launched a game‑tying home run, underscoring his competitive fire on the international stage.
Physical growth has been dramatic; he has added roughly six inches and 40 pounds since the previous year, transforming from a versatile role player into an everyday starter.
His development has been bolstered by participation in the 13U/14U Athlete Development Programs in 2024 and 2025, where he faced the nation’s top peers and refined his skills against elite competition.
The influence of his father, a bronze‑medal Olympian and 13‑year MLB veteran, continues to shape Ty’s path as Troy now coaches within USA Baseball’s 16U/17U National Team Development Program, blending mentorship with family life.
