Baird made his collegiate debut in 2026, stepping onto the mound at Globe Life Field against Texas Tech and later earning his first start against Eastern Michigan, where he tossed 3.2 innings and recorded four strikeouts, signaling a smooth transition to the college game.
During his senior year at Hough High School in North Carolina, Baird struck out 60 batters over 40 innings while maintaining a 0.80 ERA, earning three consecutive conference Pitcher of the Year honors and leading his squad to a league championship.
Perfect Game’s scouting report ranked him as the No. 3 right‑handed prospect in the state and No. 42 nationally among all pitchers, underscoring the excitement surrounding his arrival in Nashville.
A Family of Athletes
The Baird family’s athletic pedigree runs deep; his father, Kevin Baird, played basketball at Mohawk Valley Community College, while his older sister Taylor and younger brother Tanner continue to pursue sports at the collegiate level. Their mother, Erica Baird, has been a constant source of support throughout his career.
