Tyler Sullivan Appointed Marietta College Baseball Coach

A seasoned strategist with a track record of NCAA tournament appearances and academic excellence takes the helm

A New Era for Marietta College Baseball

Tyler Sullivan has been named the 15th head coach of the Marietta College baseball program, inheriting a legacy that stretches back 152 years.

The announcement, confirmed by the college’s athletics department, positions Sullivan as the newest steward of a program that has seen numerous breakthroughs over its long history.

Sullivan comes to Marietta after a series of high‑impact roles at Eastern Michigan University, where he most recently served as offensive coordinator in 2024 and helped the Griffins secure three NCAA Tournament berths, one of which culminated in a Division II World Series appearance in 2021.

His tenure at Eastern Michigan was marked not only by on‑field success but also by academic excellence; the team was recognized as PSAC Academic Champions for four consecutive years under his guidance.

Prior to his time in Michigan, Sullivan coached the Johnstown Mill Rats of the Prospect League, guiding the club to its first playoff appearance in 2022, and he began his collegiate playing career at the University of Evansville before transferring to Seton Hill University.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and an MBA in Management from Seton Hill, credentials that he says blend practical strategy with scholarly rigor.

Marietta College Director of Athletics Joe Bergin praised Sullivan’s blend of competitive experience and commitment to student‑athlete development, stating that he is confident the program will continue its tradition of excellence under the new leadership.
