Tyler Younger, a three‑star EDGE prospect from Georgia, announced his commitment to the University of Alabama on Tuesday, choosing the Crimson Tide over scholarship offers from Stanford and Rutgers.
Why Alabama?
Younger said the decision came after weeks of weighing academic reputation, coaching philosophy and the sense of belonging he felt in Tuscaloosa. The program’s culture, the unwavering support from the fan base and the promise of a tight‑knit community stood out.
He highlighted the relationships he built with the coaching staff, noting that head coach Kalen DeBoer’s vision resonated both on the field and in personal development.
DeBoer, now in his third season at Alabama, has quickly earned a reputation for demanding excellence while fostering a close‑knit environment, a factor that Younger said was crucial in his choice.
Alabama’s track record of producing NFL Draft picks also played a major role. Younger noted that the program’s history of sending players to the next level gave him confidence that he would be positioned for a professional career.
